Final Report on my PLN

I have learned a lot in this class but I think one of the most important things I have learned is where to find information that I really need. What do I mean by this? Well of course we already knew that the internet was good for researching facts and facebook. But what I learned is how to find real teachers, teaching today and how to see what they are going through and what they are learning and things they are encountering on a day-to-day basis. This is so important because I now have the opportunity to learn from other teachers mistakes and take advice from those who have been there. I get to see first hand what works and what doesn't. The payoff will be in my classroom when I am not having to learn EVERYTHING the hard way and I can take a lot away from the experiences of others.

I have enjoyed using twitter to get up-to-date news and information regarding what is going on with teachers and politics today. I will continue to use twitter to remain updated on the issues facing our educational system today. I also find reading other teachers blogs EXTREMELY beneficial. Like I said, I can see what works, and what doesn't and think critically about things that I may have never considered or thought of before on my own. I also think that symbaloo is a very useful tool in organizing all of these things to make for faster access. As always, the better you are at managing your time, the more you will be able to accomplish in life, your career, in everything.

C4T Teacher # 4 Summary Post

Hands holding the earth

Kathy Cassidy- Primary Preoccupation

-Room Two and the Forty Designs

This blog is about a teacher who has done her research! She is trying to decide how she wants to design her classroom and she has even read books about it! She cut out objects and has put them on a piece of paper in the shape of her classroom to try out different set-ups. I really like the fact that this teacher cares so much and is really trying to find the best arrangement for her students. I hope that I not only put forth the effort like she does, but am also able to design an amazing classroom. This teacher definitely has my respect.

-Primary Digital Portfolios

In this post, the teacher made a video about the student conferences coming and it was basically a teaser-trailer. I really liked hoe excited the kids were. It was really refreshing to see such young children excited to learn and using technology at such a young age. I hope that I'll be able to invoke the same excitement in my students when I finally become a teacher.
